Aerospace Engineer researches and develops structural engineering specifications for aerospace products, parts, or associated operations to improve the efficiency and reliability of aerospace systems. Analyzes results of stress tests on various craft and missile parts to determine material durability and tolerances. Being an Aerospace Engineer oversees flight tests of prototypes and analyzes resulting data to validate flight characteristics and identify necessary improvements. Conducts calculations and utilizes simulations to evaluate aerodynamics, structural integrity, propulsion efficiency, and the effect on fuel consumption of new or existing materials. Additionally, Aerospace Engineer utilizes CAE, 3-D, and digital modeling to create detailed plans and specifications to support production. Assists quality assurance and purchasing teams with the evaluation of new or existing suppliers, products and materials, or technologies. Understands and complies with all federal regulatory requirements and specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Aerospace Engineer work is closely managed. Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
* Distributor and direct customer support including communication, technical support, product support, documentation, engineering support and market pricing.
* Create and maintain filter vessel documentation primarily through use of Excel and Word documents.
* Maintain and support vessel quoting process by working with customers, Engineering, and outside vendors.
* Conduct market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services of both competitors and complementary industry partners.
* Support field sales and distributors as required to maintain Division's premier customer service position.
* Assist territory and regional manager in adapting current and new products to customer need and satisfaction.
* Provide technical expertise on product to close on final sale.
* Assist in development of new and/or revised product according to customer requirements.
* Provide timely documentation, engraved name plates or decals to end users for aviation audits.
* May be required to provide technical training of customers and distributors in division products.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace.
* Keeps management aware of changes, which would affect the distribution of Parker products.
* Participates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies.
* Maintain customer communication programs and special marketing plans.
* Develop and initiate product sales relating to pricing, life cycle and forecasting.
* Prepare and maintain special quotes for National Accounts and distributors.
* Basic mathematical skills - unit conversions, standard to metric conversions, volume calculations, etc...
* Communicate market needs for innovative products to Engineering for product design and development.
* Maintain highest degree of customer service, throughput, and quality and participate in division activities.
Qualifications:
* Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
* Education: 4-Year College degree - BS Preferred.
* Experience: 0-2 Years Sales, Manufacturing or Engineering experience preferably in manufacturing.
* Understanding of financial statements and analysis.
* PC literate (MS Office, Lotus Notes preferred, Excel spreadsheets)
* Excellent mechanical comprehension and ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature.
* Technical competence in Fluid Power (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electromechanical Systems).
