Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Ensures transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk creates and distributes invoices to customers and verifies, records, and posts payments received. Reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed and records and processes payments for debts owed by the organization. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk responds to customer or vendor inquiries regarding payments or billing and researches and resolves discrepancies. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable and receivable ledger accounts. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. General description
The Comptroller’s office is seeking an Accounts Examiner in the Revenue Processing Division. The work involves accounts examination, research, analyzes and editing of work in an extremely busy, highly repetitive production environment. The candidate will learn new concepts quickly and apply knowledge appropriately in highly active environment and changing circumstances.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
· Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
· Four years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-volume production, customer service, scanning, or similarly related work environment.
· Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet, or other Windows applications.
Preferred Experience:
· Revenue Administration experience.
· Experience preparing documents for scanning or imaging and/or working in an office setting as clerical or administrative support staff.
· Experience serving as a section Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or lead facilitating or resolving issues.
Substitution of Education for Work Experience:
One year (30 semester hours) of education from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of work experience up to a maximum of 4 years.
