Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst jobs in Tennessee

Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst analyzes accounts payable/receivable activities to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst utilizes AP/AR data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings. Generates reports to bring insight into collections, account ages, and other relevant metrics and relays conclusions to management. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and collections or payments. Analyzes customer credit history, determines credit risk, and recommends credit limits and payment terms. May recommend improvements to accounts payable/receivable processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Position Summary: The primary function of an accounts payable analyst is to compile and maintain accounts payable records. Ensure that a company’s bills are paid on time and that the company is not overcharged for any services.   Duties & Responsibilities: Process accounts payable mail, date stamp, route among departments and yards to obtain an authorization signature and original documentation Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment Acts as liaison between corporate and branch Answers all vendor inquiries Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files Provide support to accounting team during month-end closing Prepares analysis of accounts, as required Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues Follow and maintain the AP cycle Cross train where needed   Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of related work experience Strong Microsoft office skills Demonstrate knowledge of general accounting procedures   Core Competencies: Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity. Will occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc. Must be able to frequently communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to move any files weighing up to 10 pounds for audits, etc. Constantly works in indoor office environment   Required Cognitive Skills: Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks. Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects. Must be able to multitask. Must be able to receive and process financial information.
