Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Additionally, Accounts Payable Clerk responds to vendor inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies in billings and payments. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Duties:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data
- Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role
- Familiarity with accounting software Quickbooks Online
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Experience working with journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
