Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Additionally, Accounts Payable Clerk responds to vendor inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies in billings and payments. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Payable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Fort Kent, ME – PT/Days – Temporary Opportunity
Job Description:
Part-time opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk with a well-established business in Fort Kent! Temporary assignment expected to last at least 2-3 months. Great daytime schedule with room for flexibility. Previous experience helpful, but not required. Part-Time/Days; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri; 20 hrs/week; $18.50 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
The Accounts Payable Clerk will ensure that all accounts payable paperwork and invoices for the office are correctly filed and distributed in a timely manner. This individual will communicate with vendors and clients, review charges and reconcile discrepancies, file invoices for payment, and keep accurate records of all pertinent transactions. Desired candidate will have good communication and time management skills, prior bookkeeping and/or financial management experience, and exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process payments to vendors in a timely manner.
- Process check requests and employee expense reports.
- Verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Record entries to proper general ledger accounts and branches by analyzing invoices and expense reports.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal staff.
- Perform internal credit card reconciliation, entries, and payments.
- Maintain vendor accounts while staying compliant with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain historical records by scanning and electronically filing documents.
- Assist department staff with other duties as needed.
Job Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent education. Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Management strongly preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of billing and/or bookkeeping experience.
- Good computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management skills and close attention to detail.
Schedule: PT/Days; 20 hours/week within business hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri.
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
