Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. General Summary:
The Academic Advisor is responsible to the Director of Advising for working with students to develop academic plans of study. The Academic Advisor will be responsible for providing a variety of counseling and learning opportunities at RCC that will support students seeking to earn their certificate, associate degree, and/or transfer to four-year educational institutions. The Academic Counselor works with current and prospective students on academic options and provides information on services available to assist them in the pursuit of their educational goals.

This is a full-time, MCCC position (37.5 hrs), with full benefits.
Compensation: Starting Salary for this position is $63,288. with a bachelor's degree per the MCCC Grade 5 Professional Staff Salary Grid, salary is commensurate with Education and Experience in accordance with the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
